We at Wallenius Marine are now looking for a Second Officer for the vessel Don Juan. Don Juan is a classic Ro-Ro vessel that trades in various parts of the world and consists of a wonderful team onboard. Don Juan is chartered to Japanese Seven Seals and operates in and between Asia, Tanzania, and Kenya.

About the role

The role of Second Officer onboard Don Juan is developmental, varied, and a perfect step to join us at Wallenius Marine. You will work closely with the other nautical officers and be responsible for ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality onboard.

In the role, you will have varied tasks, such as:

• Navigation
• Bridge Watchkeeping
• Medical responsibility
• Focus on safety aspects onboard
• Supporting cargo and port operations
• Administrative tasks such as keeping logs and preparing voyage planning

Onboard Don Juan, both Filipino and Swedish crew members work. As we have a mixed crew, we speak English onboard.

Conditions

• The position is a permanent employment, starting with a standard probationary period.
• Contract length: approx. 8 weeks.
• Start date by agreement. The position may be filled before the application deadline.

Requirements

Requirements for the position are:

• Qualification as Second Officer
• Valid certificates and documents for the role in accordance with STCW Manila
• Good knowledge of English - ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing

Meritorious and personal qualities

It is meritorious if you:

• Have previous experience from similar Ro-Ro vessels
• Have work experience in the role of Second Officer previously
